Imagine...

Kisses like butterfly wings
Beating against rose colored lips
In the shape of a heart
That beats with the power of the wind
Which whips up the hair
And spins it around
Like a tilt a whirl or merry go round
And then the touch
Of the finger tips
Ever so light
Like a tiny babe’s
So soft and gentle
Like waves rolling in a light breeze
Which whips up the hair
And beats across the chest
Covering the heart
Which reminds those of the lips
The color of the rose
Kissed by butterfly wings
Beating.

This is my first poem of my poetry collection, Tilt-A-Whirl

  1. This is a beautiful and light poem. It drew me immediately with the 'butterfly' phrases - as I've just written a short story titled: 'Caroline's butterflies'. Pop in and have a read. In the meantime, all the best with your English major and poetry collection!
